Cosmetic Maintenance
 

We provide our customers with a tailor-made program to ensure their vessel’s exterior presentation is consistent with their desires. From weekly and fortnightly washdowns and inspections, to the coordination of skilled luxury vessel detailers, we can organise and perform any task that the vessel’s cosmetic condition requires.

Organise a recurring cosmetic plan, where we ensure the basics of vessel detailing are met; rinse, wash and dry and inspection.

​

Receive photo-backed reports of work completed and recommendations based on the inspection.

​

If further work is required such as:

  • Gelcoat and paint correction. Machine polishing, wet sanding, and paint touch-ups remove oxidation, swirls, and scratches caused by sun and salt

  • Protective Coatings: Applying marine-grade waxes or synthetic polymer sealants shields the hull from UV rays and salt damage.

  • Metal and Brightwork Rejuvenation: Buffing and polishing stainless steel, aluminium hardware, and chrome fixtures prevent pitting and corrosion.

  • Teak and Wood Care: Deep cleaning, sanding, and applying fresh varnish or oil rejuvenate teak decking and classic wood trim.

We rely on our network of experienced and qualified technicians to perform these more complex tasks. You still receive the same level of reporting and full autonomy the whole way through.

How we work

Once in contact, PYM will issue a proposal letter where we explain the nature of our business, the scope and limitations of our operations. Here we agree on the big picture plans for your vessel moving forward, you choose your level of involvement and there is no one size fits all - a true tailor-made experience. 

From here we:

  • Develop an engagement agreement.
     

  • Initiate the appraisal process.
     

  • Start ongoing care.

Once the big picture plan for your vessel is crystallised, we must conduct a comprehensive survey-like inspection of your entire vessel.

From this information we develop more informed plans for the ongoing care of your vessels: cosmetics, mechanical systems, electronic systems, seams/seals and joinery, and hull.
